1. Introduction

PetrolRate.pk ("we", "us", "our") operates the website petrolrate.pk (the "Service"). This page informs you of our policies regarding the collection, use and disclosure of personal data when you use our Service, and the choices you have associated with that data.

We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting it. This Privacy Policy explains our practices in clear, plain language.

2. Information we collect

PetrolRate.pk is primarily a one-way information service, you read fuel prices, we don't ask for an account. The data we do collect falls into two narrow categories:

2.1 Information you provide directly

• Contact form submissions: if you write to us through the Contact page, we receive your name, email address and message. We use this only to reply to you.
• City search input: the city or province you type in the hero search bar is processed entirely in your browser. It is never sent to our servers.

2.2 Information collected automatically

• Standard server log data: IP address, browser type, referring URL, pages visited and timestamp. This is standard for any web server and is used for security and performance monitoring.
• Analytics data: aggregated, anonymous statistics about how many people visit which pages, see section 4 below.

3. How we use information

We use the data we collect for these limited purposes:

• To respond to messages you send through the contact form.
• To understand which pages and features are most useful (aggregated analytics).
• To detect and prevent abuse, fraud or technical attacks against the site.
• To comply with applicable law in Pakistan.

We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information to any third party.

4. Cookies and analytics

PetrolRate.pk uses cookies sparingly. The cookies we may set are:

• Essential cookies, required for basic site functionality (for example, remembering whether you have dismissed the disclaimer banner).
• Analytics cookies, set by a privacy-respecting analytics tool (such as Google Analytics 4 in IP-anonymised mode, or Plausible). These help us understand aggregate visit patterns. They do not identify you personally.

You can disable cookies in your browser settings at any time. The site will continue to work, though some preferences may not be remembered.

5. Third-party services

To deliver the site quickly and reliably we use the following third-party services. Each has its own privacy policy:

• Google Fonts, to serve the Inter font and Material Icons. Google may log standard request data (IP, user-agent).
• jsDelivr CDN, to serve the Chart.js library used on the trend chart.
• OGRA, PSO, PakWheels, Shell Pakistan, we link to these sources for verification. They do not receive data about you simply because you visit our site.

6. Information sharing and disclosure

We do not sell or rent your personal data. We may share information only in these narrow cases:

• To comply with a lawful order or subpoena from a competent court in Pakistan.
• To protect our rights, property or safety, or that of our users or the public.
• With service providers (e.g. our hosting company) under confidentiality obligations, only to the extent necessary to operate the site.

7. Your rights and choices

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

• Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
• Ask us to correct or delete that data.
• Object to processing or withdraw consent at any time.
• Lodge a complaint with the relevant data protection authority.

8. Data security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect the limited data we hold, including HTTPS encryption in transit, access controls on our hosting environment and regular security updates. No method of transmission over the internet, however, is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Children's privacy

PetrolRate.pk is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can delete it.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for operational, legal or regulatory reasons. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page indicates the most recent revision. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
